Pervert avoids prison sentence

A pervert who was caught by paedophile hunting team ‘Geordie Chasers’ has avoided a prison sentence

Christopher Nesbitt, 36 of Heaton appeared at Newcastle Crown Court where he was sentenced for:

  • Two counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity

  • Two counts of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming

The court was told that Nesbitt had contacted the online profile of who he believed belonged to a 12 year old girl.

Nesbitt sent highly sexualised chat which included describing sexual intercourse and various sexual acts. 

At one point the girl said that her 10 year old friend was her, and Nesbitt told them that he would like to make the girls pregnant. 

He arranged to meet the 12 year old girl and her 10 year old friend. 

However, instead of the girls, Nesbitt was met by members of paedophile hunting team the ‘Geordie Chasers’ who questioned him on his internet activity.

Nesbitt became very agitated during the questioning. Police were called and he was arrested.

The judge handed Nesbitt two years imprisonment which was suspended for two years

He was also made subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and was told that he must register as a sex offender which immediate affect
