Man filmed nearly 50 ‘upskirting’ videos on London Underground with hidden camera
A man from Tadworth has been jailed for eight months after filming nearly 50 ‘upskirting’ videos on the London Underground and publishing them on a porn site.
Sanjayan Nadarajah, 43, of Shelvers Way, used a camera phone hidden in his laptop bag to film up women’s skirts and then shared the content online, according to British Transport Police (BTP).
In his police interview, Nadarajah admitted he got sexual gratification from filming women covertly, and that he never asked their permission.
Officers were alerted to the videos, which were openly available on a porn site. Nadarajah, who was visible in a handful of the videos, was then traced to his home address in Tadworth. He was arrested in October.
Blackfriars Crown Court heard that between May and July 2018, Nadarajah filmed 46 videos under women’s skirts.
In a statement read out in court, one victim, a 22-year-old woman, said she felt “sickened” and “paranoid” to find out Nadarajah had filmed her without her knowledge.
Nadarajah pleaded guilty to five counts of outraging public decency and two counts of voyeurism at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on February 4.
He was sentenced to eight months in prison at Blackfriars Crown Court and handed a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order on March 11.
