Pervert downloaded child sexual abuse images

A pervert was caught looking at obscene child sexual abuse pictures after perverts hijacked a Croatian astronomical website.

In just 76 hours after it was taken over, the internet site had 12 million hits from 144,000 different computers in 170 countries including 60-year-old forklift truck driver Michael Riley.

He was found to have downloaded more than 3,000 sickening photographs and videos, some from the websites, after he was tracked down.

His barrister, Gerald Baxter, told Liverpool crown court, Riley was a “sad, lonely old man” who could not resist the temptation of looking at the images after drinking.

The judge suspended an eight-month prison sentence for two years with supervision and ordered Riley, of Shakespeare Street, Southport, to attend a sex offenders’ programme.
