A man has been jailed following his conviction for historic child abuse offences.
Michael Paule, 66 (18.02.52) of St George’s Road, Dagenham was sentenced on Friday, 15 February at Snaresbrook Crown Court to 10 years in prison for four counts of historic rape of a female under the age of 16 years old and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years old.
He was unanimously found guilty by a jury on Thursday, 7 February at the same court.
The court heard that Paule sexually abused the girl, who was aged under 10 – and known to him – at an address in Dagenham over a three-year period in the late 1980s and early ‘90s.
The victim reported the historic offences to police in November 2016.
Paule was arrested and interviewed in September 2017 at an east London police station where he denied all allegations. He was charged on 7 July 2018.
