Pervert caught by paedophile hunters

A pervert who was caught by a paedophile hunting team has avoided a prison sentence.

Robert Twaites of Kirkby Lonsdale appeared at court where he admitted numerous charges involving online grooming of children

The court heard that Twaites had contacted the online profiles of who he believed were schoolgirls. He sent highly sexualised chat to the girls.

Twaites said he wanted to tie up both the 13 and 14 year old girls and take one of them to an industrial estate in Chesterfield where he would rape her

He told the other girl, that he would take her into the woods and do “50 shades of grey” with her

However, the girls did not exist and were instead adult members of a paedophile hunting team.

The team confronted Twaites at his workplace where they questioned him on his online activity before police were called and he was arrested

The judge handed down the following sentence/orders

  • Three year community order

    90 Rehabilitation course

    Victim surcharge of £85

    Five years sex offenders regsiter

Five year Sexual harm prevention order
