A pervert caught with thousands of indecent images of children and extreme pornography has been jailed for eight months.
Leszek Markowski downloaded 4,766 images and films on two computer devices over an 11-year period.
Most of his illegal collection was child sexual abuse images or movies but he was also found in possession of 23 images and films portraying bestiality.
Judge Rhys Rowlands told him at Mold Crown Court: “Some of the descriptions are truly appalling and these offences were committed over several years.
“It is worrying that it appears from the pre-sentence report that you have limited insight into how harmful your behaviour has been.”
Markowski’s home in Chester Road, Flint, was searched by police who took away two devices.
Forensic investigation of the hardware showed he had downloaded 599 images and films in the highest category A of illegality, 142 at category B as well as 4,025 indecent images and films classified as category C.
Judge Rowlands said it was the “tip of the iceberg” as there were also 70,000 images and movies found over the same time period that had not been viewed in their entirety, some of which were illegal.
Markowski, 44, claimed his sexual interest was in girls aged 16 and over.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child between July 2007 and October last year, possessing a prohibited image of a child between April 2010 and October last year and possessing extreme pornographic images between January 2009 and October last year.
Robin Boag, defending, said: “He has the support of his wife.”
Markowski had no previous convictions, but Judge Rowlands said: “I take the view the offences are too serious to be dealt with by anything other than a custodial sentence.”
Markowski was also placed under the restrictions of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years and told to register as a sex offender.
