Men convicted of abusing four-year old twins

Two men have been jailed after being convicted of sexually abusing four-year-old twins and had their names added to the sex offenders register.

Cameron Skead, 44, and Billy Brown, 27, carried out the attacks at a house in Edinburgh between 2002 and 2004.

The trial was told that Skead would babysit the children and Brown came over to the house on occasion.

The pair denied a series of indecency offences but were found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday.

The judge told jurors after they returned guilty verdicts on the pair of indecency offences against the little boy and his sister that it had been “a very anxious, very distressing, horrible case”.

Skead was jailed for six years and Brown – who was jailed as a teenager for killing a youth in a street stabbing – was given a lesser sentence of three and a half years.

Judge Morris told them: “You were convicted of serious sexual offences against young children.”
