Man sentenced to prison for serious sexual offences – Oxfordshire
Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced to an extended prison sentence of 18 years and a further seven years on licence after he was convicted of multiple sexual offences against a vulnerable woman in the Faringdon area following a trial lasting 12 days at Oxford Crown Court.
Nigel Wheeler, aged 62, formerly of Eastmere, Swindon, was found guilty by unanimous verdicts of one count of common assault and the following sex offences.
– Two counts of sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder impeding choice.
– One count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a person with a mental disorder impeding choice.
– One count of causing a person with a mental disorder impeding choice to watch a sexual act
– One count of voyeurism
– One count of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship
