Hull man sentenced after indecent images of children were found on his computer

A 57-year-old man from Hull whose computer devices had over 800 indecent images and videos, many containing children, has this week been sentenced to 25 months in prison.

Michael Brewer of Newland Court, pleaded guilty on Monday 17 December to numerous offences after an investigation by our Internet Sex Offenders Team.

  • The offences were:

    – Making an indecent photograph of a child

    – Possession of extreme pornographic images

    – Distributing an indecent image of a child

    – Breaching his sexual harm prevention order

The offences came to light after our Internet Sex Offenders Team received intelligence that the internet connection at Brewer’s home address had been used to access indecent images of children.

Brewers was arrested in February 2018 and electrical devices including a laptop and an external hard drive were seized from his property.

The devices were examined and officers found over 260 indecent images and over 600 indecent videos on them, many of these were of an extreme sexual nature and featuring children.
