Ex-soccer coach sentenced for child sex crimes
A pervert was sentenced to eight years and eights months in prison for 13 felonies involving lewd acts with children.
Police arrested Robert Vincent Peace, 45, a former youth soccer coach, in January after a family member found child sexual abuse images on Peace’s portable hard drive and turned it over to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, authorities said.
The Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force investigated the hard drive and identified a 13-year-old girl from Edicott, N.Y.
Police said that Peace found the girl on a video chat website and persuaded her to send him videos of herself in sexual acts over a two-year period.
Peace blackmailed the girl by threatening to release the videos if she did not continue to send him new indecent images, authorities said. Without the victim’s knowledge, Peace posted some of the sex videos online.
After Peace’s arrest, investigators found another female victim on his computer, which they identified as a 14-year-old from Virginia. Peace used the same website to meet the girl, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said in a printed release, and received videos from her for two years.
Authorities said in addition to the indecent images from the two girls, Peace possessed more than 1,500 lewd images and more than 300 graphic videos of child sexual abuse, including webcam footage, on his computer.
Peace, a United Kingdom native, was arrested Jan. 20 by Huntington Beach Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Peace was in possession of additional child sexual abuse images in his home and vehicle, police said.
Peace pleaded guilty in court Friday to 13 felonies, including seven counts of lewd acts upon a child and two felony counts for using a minor for distribution of obscene matter.
