Paedophile spared jail

A paedophile who ‘lost everything’ when his wife discovered his sick collection of child sexual abuse images has been handed a suspended sentence.

Anson Antcliff, 50, was arrested after police raided his home in Northallerton, North Yorkshire last year and uncovered videos and pictures stored on eight devices.

Teesside Crown Court heard how he had begun watching porn at an early age and was also a member of an internet chat room that encouraged other paedophiles to share pictures with him online.

Antcliff, who now lives on Merseyside, was given a ten-month suspended prison sentence after he admitted three charges of making indecent images of children.

Judge Sean Morris told him: ‘Understand this. If you ever are caught getting access to this kind of material again, you will go to prison.’

Antcliff was also put on the sex offenders’ register for ten years, and given a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order to restrict his use of computers and the internet.

A 50-day rehabilitation activity requirement was also imposed so that he can work with the Probation Service to continue the work he has already started to tackle his problem.
