A pervert that groomed what he believed was a young girl online has avoided a prison sentence after he was caught out in a paedophile hunting sting
JordanMason, aged 23, of Merthyr Tydfil appeared at Merthyr Crown Court after pleading guilty to sexual communication with a child
The court was told that Mason contacted the online profile of who he believed was a 13 year old girl. He went on to send sexually explicit messages with the intent of committing sexual activity with the child
Mason wanted to meet the girl and tried to pressure her into bringing her 13 year old friend, so she could watch and then join in with them whilst they have sexual intercourse.
However, the girl did not exist, and was instead a decoy from paedophile hunting team ‘Manchester Child protectors – (MCP)’
Another team called Welsh Children Protectors/KKS Wales carried out the sting on Mason on behalf of MCP
They confronted him, and questioned him on his online activity. The police were called and he was arrested.
Mason was handed a eight month prison sentence which was suspended for two years
He was told that he must register as a sex offender for ten years and that he must adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for the same amount of time
He must complete a Horizon Programme and undertake 20 days Rehabilitation
