Man jailed after boy, 14, sexually assaulted in Stoke Pride toilet cubicle

Pervert Jamie Walker has been jailed after sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in a toilet cubicle at Stoke Pride.

The 28-year-old, of no fixed address, followed the teenager into the toilets but the boy resisted his advances and escaped.

The boy ran to neighbourhood police officers at the event, which saw record numbers descend on Hanley Park on June 16 earlier this year, and Walker was subsequently arrested.

Walker was yesterday sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court to three and a half years in jail after being found guilty of the following charges:

  • Two counts of sexual activity with a child;

  • One count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity;

  • One count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

He received 42 months for one count of sexual activity with a child, to run concurrently with the 36 months he received for the second count.

Walker was also sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for inciting a child to engage in sexual activity as well as 36 months for engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child – both sentences also running concurrently.

In addition to his sentence, Walker was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and, on his release, must adhere to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.
