Pervert exposed himself to three women and sexually assaulted two of them in terrifying two-hour spree
David Robson, of Blakelaw, left a trail of fear and anguish after targeting women out in the Ashington area – including mothers out with young children and a pensioner
A pervert who exposed himself to three women in one afternoon and sexually assaulted two of them has been jailed and banned from a series of parks.
David Robson left a trail of fear and after targeting women in Ashington – including a pensioner and women out with very young children.
The 23-year-old, who also used violence on some victims, carried out all of the offences within two hours on August 18.
Shortly after 3pm a man and a woman were walking around a lake in the Queen Elizabeth II park when they were approached by Robson.
He shouted at the woman, demanding she remove her knickers and she was frightened as they were in a secluded spot, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
She grabbed her friend’s arm but Robson grabbed her arm and shouted the same foul-mouthed demand again.
When the man intervened, Robson pulled out a Jif lemon bottle and squirted a liquid at him before shouting again at the woman, saying “Take your f****** knickers off”.
Robson, of Rose Hill Way, Blakelaw, Newcastle pleaded guilty to common assault and criminal damage – in relation to squeezing the lemon juice on the man’s jacket.
At 3.10pm a 49-year-old woman had been to a pub at Woodhorn and was walking around the lake with her 10-month-old granddaughter, together with another adult and her 12-year-old daughter.
Robson, carrying the Jif bottle, approached them and made a lewd comment to one of the women as he lunged towards her.
She turned away and he grabbed the top of her arm and her friend pulled him off her.
The victim shouted at the 12-year-old, who was in tears, to run away, which she did.
Robson pleaded guilty to common assault on the 49-year-old.
At 3.50pm a mum was walking along Woodhorn Road with her baby when she became aware of a man staring at her and Robson approached.
She noticed his jogging bottoms was folded and he was exposing his genitals and made a lewd request.
When she refused he raised his voice and repeated his demand, leaving the victim frightened.
At 4.15pm a 73-year-old woman was walking her dog in a wooded area when she was approached by the pervert.
Prosecutor Neil Pallister said: “She describes how he grabbed her right breast and he twisted it, which caused pain and she had reddening and bruising.
“She swung at him with the dog lead but missed and she turned round to see he had pulled his jogging bottoms down and exposed his penis.”
Robson made a lewd suggestion to the terrified pensioner before walking away.
At 4.30pm a woman was on Station Road, Ashington, with her toddler, when she became aware of Robson behind her.
She moved to let him past and he grabbed her bottom before stopping to face her, exposing himself and making a lewd demand.
Mr Pallister said: “She called him a perv and walked on ahead.”
Robson pleaded guilty to sexual assault and exposure.
In statements read to the court, the victims said they were left feeling upset, angry, violated, anxious and nervous because of what happened to them.
The court heard Robson has six previous convictions, including one for sexual assault in June 2016 after he grabbed a female jogger between the legs in a park.
He was given a community order on that occasion.
He was also on a suspended sentence for possessing a knife at the time of the crime spree in Ashington.
For his latest offences he was jailed for 15 months, must sign the sex offenders register for 10 years and was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same period which bans him from various parks in the Ashington area.
