Pervert caught by paedophile hunters avoids prison sentence

A pervert has avoided a prison sentence after he was caught by a paedophile hunting team attempting to groom girls online

Neil Edge of Birmingham appeared at Crown Court where he admitted sexual offences

The court was told that Edge was a school caretaker who lived on site, when he contacted the online profile of who he believed was a child.

However, the child did not exist and was instead a adult member of a paedophile hunting team who pose online to catch sexual predators who target children

Edge spent three months on remand awaiting his sentencing

He was sentenced to the following:

  •  Twelve months imprisonment suspended for 2 years

  •  Ten days rehabilitation activities

  •  Ten years on the Sex Offenders Register

  •  Sexual harm prevention order until further notice
