This paedophile grandad asked ’11-year-old Jessica’ to be his SEX SLAVE
Paedophile John Barnard has been jailed after he tried to arrange to meet up with what he believed was an 11-year-old girl for sex.
The 52-year-old, of Burslem was snared by paedophile hunter group, Dark Light, after they set up a number of profiles purporting to be children.
He contacted one of the ‘dummy profiles’ – an 11-year-old girl called Jessica – initially online and then on WhatsApp.
Over the next few weeks, Barnard, a dad-of-two and grandad-of-three, told her to sexually touch herself and perform a sex act on herself. He asked if she wanted to have sex with him, said he would get a room for them and asked her to take along her school uniform.
And he sent three pictures of his private parts to her.
He asked if she wanted to be his sex slave and if he could tie her to a bed so he could be her master.
Members of the group confronted the defendant at his home on September 5 and he walked with one of them to the police station.
Now Barnard has been jailed for three years and two months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Prosecutor Siobhan Collins said a number of fake profiles of children were set up and placed online by the group Dark Light. The profiles were left dormant and one purported to be a girl called Jessica, aged 11.
Miss Collins said: “Having seen that profile, the defendant contacted Jessica. He was immediately told she was aged 11. Twenty minutes later, the defendant was asking her about her clothing.
“He told her it was a shame she was in Manchester and he was in Stoke-on-Trent. He said if they did meet, she could wear her school uniform.”
The defendant sent the girl three pictures of his private parts and spoke about performing a sex act on her.
Miss Collins told the court: “He said she could sit on his lap. He told her teachers used to be able to spank and asked if she wanted him to be her teacher. He spoke of taking her virginity.”
Barnard, of Bycars Road, Burslem, pleaded guilty to attempting to cause or incite a female child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between August 20 and September 3.
Judge Dean Kershaw made Barnard the subject of a sexual harm prevention order and placed him on the sex offenders’ register for life.
Judge Kershaw said: “The chat logs are very disturbing. It troubles me immensely that you have engaged with someone you knew was aged 11.
“You are a paedophile. You are someone who thought about abusing a child.
“You said you would be proud if she was your daughter. You were talking about having sex. You talked about taking her virginity. You tried to arrange to meet her.
“Very thankfully, this was not a child, but I am satisfied there was no incitement on her part at all. You are wholly to blame for it.
“The public must be protected from people like yourself who engage in this kind of talk because it could so easily have been the case that this was a real child and the danger they would have been in is immense.”
