Man sentenced for non-recent sexual offence– Banbury
Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for a non-recent indecent assault offence in Banbury.
Neil ‘Paddy’ Shephard, aged 69, of Paddock Field, Stockbridge, Hampshire, pleaded guilty to one count of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14.
He was convicted at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on 16 August this year and sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Friday (19/10).
Between 1 January 1992 and 31 December 1993, Shephard indecently assaulted the boy in Banbury.
He was charged on 11 July this year.
Shephard was sentenced to one year and nine months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
He was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.
