Pervert caught by paedophile hunting team
A pervert has been jailed after he was caught in a sting operation carried out by paedophile hunting team ‘Templar knights’
At the hearing on 31st August, 2018 at Derby Crown Court, Adam Shelton pleaded guilty to the following charges:
Attempting to incite a child to engage in penetrative sexual activity
The court heard that Shelton had contacted the online profile of who he believed was a child. Shelton sent a string of sexually charged messages with the intent of sexual activity with the child.
However, the child did not exist and was instead a member of the online child protection team ‘Templar Knights: Guardians of children.’
The court was told that the team pose as children online in order to intercept sexual predators who groom children by using social media platforms.
The team apprehended the pervert after researching the offenders background. Another team called ‘No Nonsense’ supplied the security on the day of the sting.
Once the team had secured the offender, the police were called and all evidence was handed over and the offender was arrested.
The judge sentenced Adam Shelton to:
16 months imprisonment
