Monster who abused 4 children – including own daughter – told to ‘rot in hell’

A paedophile who abused his own daughter was branded ‘a monster’ by the judge who punished him for his crimes.

Peter Wilson showed no emotion as he was sentenced for abusing his daughter and three other children.

The 59-year-old welder denied the offences.

But he was found guilty of 10 indecent assault offences unanimously by a jury at Leicester Crown Court.

Daughter Natasha has bravely waived her right to anonymity in order to expose him

Speaking after a hearing in which she confronted her father in court, she said: “It was a really powerful feeling, to look my father in the eyes to tell him exactly what he did to me and to stand metres away from someone who tried to ruin me – and to show him how massively he’d failed.”

Natasha was applauded in court after reading out a powerful victim impact statement in front of her abuser.

Passing sentence, Judge Martin Hurst said: “It would take a hard heart indeed not to be moved by the victim impact statements describing the effect of the abuse they suffered all those years ago.

“An optimistic outcome is that they’ve all expressed these convictions have given them a considerable degree of closure and they can all move on with their lives.

“Your defence during the trial was they were making it up and lying and you hadn’t done anything.

“Your case was that it simply didn’t happen.

“Your four victims gave evidence over three or four days and described how you’d abused them at various periods spanning about 10 years (between 1991 and 2001).

“The offences against Natasha, your daughter, involved total corruption.

“She was extremely young and didn’t understand what was going on.”

The judge said Natasha, now aged 27, recalled being abused from the age of four.

Evidence put before the jury supported indecency occurring from the age of seven.

He added: “It makes no difference whether it was from four or seven-years-old, you even had another go when she was 15.”

Judge Hurst said that one girl, aged 10, was indecently touched by the defendant and a 16-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in a caravan.

Another girl similarly suffered when she was between six and nine-years-old.

Judge Hurst said: “You are a monster to all of these four victims in this case and you brazened it out during the trial, allowing the complainants to be branded as liars.”

Wilson, formerly of Pawley Close, Mounstorrel, was jailed for a total of 12 years with an additional one-year licence period.

The court heard that the defendant stood trial some years ago, accused of sexually abusing a different girl.

He denied the allegations and was acquitted. She later died from a drugs overdose.

Wilson was placed on a sexual harm prevention order and will have to enlist on a sex offender register, for life.

He was made the subject of an indefinite restraining order banning any future contact with his four victims.

The mother of one of the victims shouted “rot in hell” as Wilson was led from the dock.
