Warped train pervert who sexually assaulted schoolgirl in Birmingham is jailed

Michael Cosco, 63, of Halesowen Road, Cradley Heath, was jailed for two years.

A train pervert who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old schoolgirl and deliberately rubbed his groin against a woman during a string of offences in Birmingham has been caged.

Michael Cosco, of Halesowen Road, Cradley Heath , molested three women across the local rail network from February to April.

The 63-year-old, who pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual assault at Wolverhampton Crown Court, first “violated” an 18-year-old woman on the Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield service .

He stood next to the victim and rubbed himself against her shoulder on March 13, making the victim feel uncomfortable.

The second incident took place at Aston Station on March 14.

Again, Cosco stood next to, and inappropriately touched, a 13-year-old girl who was on the way home from school.

The father of the schoolgirl rang the police when he spotted the suspect the following day

Officers immediately attended and arrested Cosc.

Cosco was identified as a suspect for a number of other offences in February, where a man touched himself inappropriately on a platform at Birmingham New Street and exposed himself on a train between Five Ways and New Street.

He was later linked to a further incident in April when a man rubbed his groin against a woman on a tram in Wednesbury.

Cosco was subsequently charged with three counts of sexual assault, two counts of outraging public decency and one of indecent exposure.

He admitted one charge of sexual assault against the 18-year-old and, following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court . He was also convicted of the sexual assault against the 13-year-old, with the judge ordering the other charges to lie on record.

On October 5, Cosco was sentenced to a total of two years and nine months in jail, placed on the Sex Offenders Register and handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
