Pervert bodyguard who boasted of his “local links” as well as his rich and famous clients convicted of child sex images
A Sevenoaks bodyguard who boasted of his “local links” as well as his rich and famous clients has been convicted of downloading child sex images.
Police, who raided his Riverhead home in April last year, found more than 10,000 disturbing images of children, including 170 of the highest category.
But a judge at Maidstone Crown Court spared former soldier, Timothy Murfitt, 47, jail today because of his “remarkable” 24 year military career.
Clients of Murfitt are said to have included Prince Harry, Robbie Williams and Sevenoaks Indoors Bowls Club which employed him and his company Project Q Bodyguards to monitor their venue after a break-in last year.
The father-of-five had served with the Parachute Regiment, Royal Engineers and Military Intelligence.
Sentencing him to six months the judge said he was prepared to suspend this for two years because his military service record reached “levels of considerable praise” from those that had dealt with him.
The court heard how Murfitt had used the terms “toddler” and baby girl pics” to search for explicit child images. But Murfitt denied having a sexual interest in children
The judge also ordered Murfitt, who had pleaded guilty, to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work, placed his on the sex offenders register for seven years and issued him with a sexual harm prevention order.
