Pervert caught by paedophile hunters

A man has been jailed after encouraging ‘decoys’ – who he thought were 13-year-old girls – to look at images of him masturbating after talking to them on a chat website.

Keith Michael Chance was given a 32-week jail sentence by Judge Keith Thomas at Swansea Crown Court after he was convicted of two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication, and attempting to cause a child to look at an image of sexual activity.

The court heard a group called Shield of Innocence created ‘decoy’ profiles imitating 13-year-old girls called ‘Sky’ and ‘Gemma’ on July 12.

Chance, of St Teilo Road, Pontarddulais, using the profile name ‘Chance Boyo’, citing his age as 34, initiated contact with the profile of Sky, starting the chat with ‘Hi there beautiful’.

The decoy made it clear it was of a 13-year-old girl, and the defendant, given the ‘MeetForYou’ website was for adults, asked how she got onto the page and she said she ‘lied about her age’.

Chance asked if she had Snapchat or WhatsApp and described her as “beautiful and gorgeous”, and told her how he had his first sexual activity at the age of seven, offering to teach her for her “Not to be scared” by sexual experience.

He told her he would start off by kissing her, before describing more graphic sexual activity.

The court heard when the conversation lagged he would re-initiate the conversation.

The court also heard another account from his exchange with the group, this time with a profile purporting to be a girl called Gemma, again aged 13.

Chance initiated the conversation, using the same profile name, asking ‘Gemma’ whether she had WhatsApp, and on this occasion, it was given to him

Once on the chat platform, he described how he had been touching himself whilst looking at a photo of her, and sent her a video of him masturbating, encouraging her to ‘watch the video until the end’.

The court was told Chance has 19 convictions for 42 offences, with his record featuring a variety of offences.

Giving his judgement, Judge Thomas said: “A group of individuals created fictitious profiles pretending to be 13-year-old girls. You found them and started exchanging messages with them.

“At one point you suggested you gave Sky her first sexual experience. In your contact with Gemma you sent the decoy a picture of you masturbating.

“When confronted by the group you said you were ashamed.”

Chance was jailed for 32 weeks and has been given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for 10 years.

He must also sign the sexual offenders register for 10 years.
