Paedophile caught with sick Harry Potter-themed ‘Pedo Wizards’ manual is jailed

A paedophile caught with child abuse manuals including a sick Harry Potter themed handbook has been jailed for 12 months.

Robert Ginn, 56, was arrested after he made a series of internet searches for child sexual abuse images

When police raided his east London home, they found he had a collection of 1,733 indecent images and videos featuring children and babies.

Prosecutor Mathew Turner said Ginn also had instructional paedophile manuals, including one titled ‘Hogwarts School for Pedo Wizards.’

Mr Turner told Snaresbrook Crown Court: “One of the videos depicted a six month old baby.”

The paedophile manuals were discovered on devices in Ginn’s home by police as part of Operation Belladonna.

They had not been deleted and were ‘easily accessible.’

Three of the manuals, each called the Jazz Guide, included tips on “how to rape a child under-six without causing them harm.”

Bespectacled Ginn hobbled into the dock in court with the aid of a walking stick.

Ginn’s defence asked the judge to consider Ginn’s pet cat and said: “He has a cat, which is all he has for company.

“It will be a much darker place he finds himself in when he comes out.

“It is a plea of mercy on his behalf that he can put this most dreadful episode behind him and try to rebuild his life.”

Judge Grace Amakye told Ginn: “I am of the view that your offences are so serious that they do pass the custodial threshold

“The victims contained within these images were vulnerable because of their ages and they undoubtedly suffered and may still be suffering from the violence meted out upon them.”

She sentenced Ginn to a total of 12 months and passed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Ginn, of Bonner Street, Bethnal Green, east London, admitted three counts of making indecent images of children and five counts of possessing a paedophile manual.

Paedophile caught with child abuse manuals

A paedophile was caught with child abuse manuals including a sick Harry Potter-themed one called ‘Hogwarts School for Pedo Wizards’, a court heard.

Robert Ginn, 56, of Bethnal Green, East London, was arrested after he made a series of internet searches for child pornography.

When police raided his home they found he had a collection of 1,733 indecent images featuring children and babies, and perverted manuals.

Saira Khan, prosecuting, said some of the videos depicted the rape of babies ‘as young as six months’ and children no older than 11.

‘These children are children that are young and vulnerable,’ Ms Khan told Thames Magistrates’ Court in Bow.

The paedophile manuals were found by police on ‘active devices’ in Ginn’s home, meaning they were being used and could be shared, the court heard.

Ms Khan said three of the manuals, each called the Jazz Guide, included tips on ‘how to rape a child under six without causing them harm’.

Ginn, who hobbled into the dock with the aid of a walking stick, protested to the Press in the courtroom, pleading: ‘I’ve got a family. We all make mistakes.’

Magistrate Stephen Van Gelder said: ‘These matters cannot be dealt with in the magistrates as our sentencing powers are insufficient. You will now go to Snaresbrook Crown Court.’
