Pervert bombarded victims with sex messages and sent porn in the post to police
A twisted pervert who bombarded victims with offensive sex messages and posted a disc with porn on it to North Wales Police was jailed for five years.
Mark Dixey’s crime spree started when he sent pornography to the force, implying it was from a local businessman who he’d never met, Mold Crown Court heard.
Dixey, 43, of Beaconsfield Road, Shotton, placed adverts in a local newsagent asking for a female babysitter aged between 14-17, claiming he was a local policewoman.
When a woman contacted him about the job, Dixey sent her offensive messages and images and then demanded £50,000 from her to stop.
He also posted a letter to a woman in Milton Keynes who he had no connection with, containing more offensive material and sent another woman obscene sex messages and tried to implicate somebody else as the offender.
When police finally caught up with Dixey, aided by shop CCTV connecting him to mobile phones sending the messages, they also found he possessed indecent images of children.
He pleaded guilty to a total of 16 offences between October 1 2016 and May 25 2017.
Eight were sending an indecent or offensive message, three were perverting the course of justice, three were intentionally encouraging an individual to commit an offence and two were making indecent images of children.
The court heard Dixey had previous convictions from 2009 including sending obscene material, perverting the course of justice, harassment and exposure, for which he received a suspended sentence.
Judge David Hale said: “This is a catalogue of rather perverse offences and you have never once given an explanation for why you did this and there has been no expression of remorse.
“This is against a background of being convicted in 2009 for similar offences and receiving a suspended sentence for well documented health issues and caring for your mother.
“But you didn’t learn your lesson and this behaviour started again.”
When Dixey comes out of prison, he must also serve a year on licence.
He was also given a sexual harm prevention order, a restraining order from approaching victims and has already registered indefinitely on the sex offenders register.
