West Midlands Police inspector admits making indecent child images
Police inspector Lee Bartram has pleaded guilty to making indecent images of a child and distributing similar images to other paedophiles online
Lee Bartram, of West Midlands Police, was arrested at home on Monday and charged yesterday evening
He was charged with five counts of making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, and two counts of distributing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child.
The 44-year-old officer, who was based in Birmingham city centre, was remanded in custody at Walsall Magistrates’ Court until sentencing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on September 13
Bartram appeared visibly distressed in the dock this morning, holding his head in his hands throughout.
The former inspector wore a blue logo t-shirt and blue jeans as he appeared for the brief hearing before a district judge.
He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth as an order was made to withhold publication of his address in the interest of his own safety and the safety of his family.
