Pervert jailed after being caught by paedophile hunters
A pervert has been jailed after grooming what he believed was a young girl
Lee Stephen Sanders of Abbeywood appeared at Woolwich Crown Court where he admitted:
Attempting to incite a child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity
Attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child
The court was told that Sanders had contacted what he believed was the online profile of a 12 year old girl
The pervert sent sexually charged messages explaining his intent to engage in sexual activity with the girl. He also suggested meeting her
However, the girl did not exist and was in-fact an adult from online child protection team ‘Cobra’, who pose online as children to catch internet predators.
Members from ‘Cobra’ confronted Sanders during a sting operation. They questioned him on his internet activity.
The police were called and he was swiftly arrested.
Although the total sentence of both charges totalled 24 months imprisonment, they were to run concurrent which meant a 15 month prison sentence was imposed
A sexual harm prevention order for 10 years was issued and Sanders was told that he would be on the sex offenders register indefinitely
