Methil man facing jail after being caught with child images for second time
A Methil man is facing jail after being caught with indecent images of children for a second time.
Officers raided the home of David Robertson after receiving intelligence that sickening photographs had been accessed from the Oakvale Road property.
Robertson, a shop assistant, denied having viewed the images but admitted his guilt at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
The court was told how officers seized a storage device and two mobile phones which contained hundreds of child sexual abuse images.
Depute fiscal Sarah Lumsden told the court that some of the images were of the most serious level, showing rape or torture of young children
Robertson admitted that between May 1 and November 1 last year, he took or permitted indecent photographs of children to be taken at the property in Methil.
Defence solicitor Iain McCafferty told the court his client had a previous conviction for the same offence dating back to 2012, which had been dealt with by a probation order.
He added that the number of images during the first incident were far higher than his latest conviction.
Sheriff James Williamson deferred sentence for a background report and ordered Robertson to sign the sex offenders.
