Pervert caught by paedophile hunters

A pervert who sent sexually charged online messages to who he believed was a child has avoided a prison sentence

Simon Rowley, Bulwell appeared at Nottingham Crown court where he admitted:

  • Sexual communication with a child

  • Attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming

The court was told that Rowley had contacted an online profile he believed belonged to a child. He sent a string of sexual messages. However, the child did not exist and was actually a member of online child protection team ‘No More Silent Voices’

The judge told that Rowley that he would impose a community order for three years with a sex offenders programme included

Rowley was told that he must register as a sex offender for a period of five years

A sexual harm prevention order for 5 years was also imposed which limits any unsupervised access to children and his activity on the internet
