Man Gets 10 Months For Sexual Grooming
A man has been jailed for 10 months for attempting to meet, who he thought, was a 13 year old girl in Jersey following sexual grooming.
33 year old Luis Daniel Da Silva Ferreira is the latest person to be snared by female paedophile hunter Cheyenne O’Connor.
Ferreira started a conversation with Miss O’Connor, posing as the child, on Facebook in November last year.
The Magistrate’s Court heard that they arranged to meet and police found him with a bottle of baby oil – he was then arrested.
Advocate Adam Harrison, his defence, said he knew that prison was inevitable and that he didn’t think of the consequences of his actions.
As well as being sentenced for 10 months, he has also been given a 5 year restraining order and placed on the sex offenders register.
Ferreira was told in custody that he could be deported back to Madeira after the jail term – but Deputy Viscount Advocate Mark Harris didn’t recommend that in sentencing.
He was one of several men, snared by Miss O’Connor, in court this week – but the only one so far to be sentenced.
Update: Sentencing adjourned to August 10th
