Man found with indecent images of children

A Grimsby man was found to have dozens of indecent images of children on his computer.

Experts from the National Crime Agency used sophisticated IT tracking measures to reveal the address, Grimsby Crown Court heard.

Humberside Police visited the address in Acklam Grove and found the banned images on the computer belonging to Liam Briggs,24.

He admitted three offences of possessing indecent images and one of distributing child sexual abuse images

Recorder Gurdial Singh sentenced Briggs to 16 months in prison suspended for two years.

He also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which will be effective for 10 years, limiting his access to children and increasing checks on his whereabouts and activities.

The defendant was also ordered to attend rehabilitation sessions with probationary support services.

Prosecuting Richard Davies said the images were found on October 25 last year when police visited Briggs’ home.

Experts identified he had been accessing the images from a website and police officers found the most severe category of images on the computer and mobile phone.

He also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which will be effective for 10 years, limiting his access to children and increasing checks on his whereabouts and activities.

The defendant was also ordered to attend rehabilitation sessions with probationary support services.
