‘Best friend’ paedophiles who met working at Asda jailed after filming young boys at leisure centre
TWO ‘best friend’ paedophiles who filmed young boys changing in a leisure centre and had indecent images of children have been jailed.
Police found Craig Brown had made 1,445 indecent images when they raided his Pontypool home in May, Cardiff Crown Court heard.
Of those, 574 were of films and pictures classed at category A featuring the most serious examples of child sexual abuse.
Some showed attacks on babies and infants and Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke described them as “extremely disturbing”.
Prosecutor Richard Ace said Brown had told the arresting officers who found the shocking material on his laptop: “Yes. Sick isn’t it?”
A few days later, a search warrant was executed at Kristian Wigmore’s Newport address and they recovered indecent material on his mobile phone.
The court heard how the pair were close friends who had met while working for the supermarket Asda.
Mr Ace said that some of the material seized included the duo filming young boys, on two separate occasions, at the leisure centre.
The 31-year-old Brown, of Woodfield Road, New Inn, admitted three counts of making indecent images, voyeurism and distributing indecent photographs.
Wigmore, 26, of Graig Park Lane, Malpas, pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images, voyeurism, taking an indecent photograph and distributing an indecent photograph.
Judge Lloyd-Clarke gave the pair custodial sentences of a combined term of five years.
Brown was jailed for a total of three years and four months, told he must register as a sex offender for life.
He was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order and must pay a victim surcharge upon his release.
Wigmore was sent to prison for one year and eight months, told to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
He was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order and must pay a victim surcharge.
