Teacher pleads guilty to charges relating to child sexual abuse
A teacher has pleaded guilty to charges related to possession of indecent images of children and engaging children in sexual activity.
Richard Clark, 29, from the Thirsk area, appeared at York Crown Court on Friday morning, June 15, charged with two counts of possessing Category B indecent images of children and two counts of possessing Category C indecent images of children.
He also faces three further charges relating to sexual activity with children.
Two of the charges involve inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The other charge relates to inciting children to engage in sexual activity whilst Mr Clark was in a position of trust.
At court on Friday, the defendant, dressed in a T-shirt and trousers, stood in the dock and formally entered a guilty plea to all seven of the charges.
The case was adjourned and will return to York Crown Court on Monday, September 10.
Due to reporting restrictions in place, the North Yorkshire school where Mr Clark was employed as a teacher cannot be named.
