Man sent sexual messages to vulnerable adult
A man has walked free from court after grooming a vulnerable adult who suffered with a mental age of 13
Robert Walton 63, of Cheadle Hulme appeared at Stockport Magistrates Court where he admitted inappropriate and communications of a sexual nature with a vulnerable adult who suffered from a mental age of a 13-year-old
The court was told that the victim had recently undergone a 10 hour brain surgery operation at Kings college hospital London, when Walton took advantage of her, by sending sexually explicit chat in the hope of grooming the woman into sexual activity
A psychologist said the victim did not have the capacity to consent, nor truly understand that she was being groomed for sex
The chat was found by a relative of the victim, who confronted Walton who admitted to him what he had done.
The judge sentenced Walton to seven weeks in prison which was suspended for 12 months
He was told that he must complete 300 hours of unpaid work and ordered to attend a 20 day rehabilitation activity requirement
