A dangerous paedophile from Ystrad Mynach has been jailed for a series of sexual offences against girls.
At Cardiff Crown Court, judge Christopher Vosper directed that 43-year-old Gareth Davies serve a minimum of six years behind bars before being considered for release.
The judge said: “You won’t be released until the Parole Board considers it is safe to release you and that you are no longer a risk to young girls.”
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Davies, of Bedwlwyn Street, Ystrad Mynach, pleaded guilty to a total of 11 charges including rape, indecent assault and indecency with a child.
The circumstances, said Martin Kelly, prosecuting, concerned offences being committed against young girls.
They came to light, he said, on February 12 this year when one of the victims informed a teacher that she had been indecently touched by Davies.
He was immediately arrested and strenuously denied committing any offences and challenged the times and places of the allegations.
Two of the offences occurred when Davies was on bail, confirmed Mr Kelly.
The judge said: “I will give you full credit for your guilty plea.
“At the time of some of the offences you were under investigation by the police and on bail.”
He said that a probation report indicated that Davies was assessed as being dangerous.
