Child rapist jailed decades after abusing three girls
A violent and predatory rapist, described as “without shame or empathy”, has been jailed for 19 years.
Philip Parker abused three children over the course of more than three decades – between 1968 and 2004 – while living in Letchworth and Essex.
The 63-year-old, formerly of Coopers Villas, Takeley, told two of his victims he would kill them if they told anyone what he was doing to them.
It took years for the three girls, who are now adults, to talk about the abuse they had suffered.
Parker was eventually arrested 2015 and, following a three-week trial earlier this year, was found guilty of 10 counts of child rape.
On Friday June 9, he was jailed at St Albans Crown Court for 19 years, placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, and was made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention order.
Judge Stephen Warner said he was “predatory”, “controlling” and “without shame or empathy”.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) praised the three victims for their bravery.
