Pervert avoids prison
A 44-year-old man has been given a six month prison sentence suspended for two years after he admitted using a camera to film people getting changed at Water Meadows in Mansfield.
Martin Socha, of Dozen Drive in Mansfield, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday 29 May 2018) having pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism on 27 April.
In September 2017, police received a report that a family with a five-year-old boy, were getting changed in a cubicle in the unisex changing room when they noticed a device being held above them.
The alarm was raised and Socha was detained until police arrived. Following his arrest, officers found a small spy camera device in his sock which was still switched on, and evidence that he had also been spying on another woman.
As well as the suspended sentence, Socha was also given a seven year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.
