Pervert downloaded over 1,000 indecent images of children

A man who made or downloaded more than 1,000 indecent images of children has been jailed.

Scott Archer, from Coventry, was sentenced to 16 months in prison after previously pleading guilty to three counts of making/downloading the images.

They included 190 indecent images of children in category A (the most severe category), 288 in category B and 539 in category C.

Archer, 39, whose current address is HMP Hewell, pleaded guilty to all three counts at Coventry Magistrates’ Court in April and was sentenced last week at Warwick Crown Court.

He was given a 16-month prison sentence for the category A images with concurrent sentences of 10 months and eight months for the category B and C images respectively.

Archer was also sentenced for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) which had been put in place in 2015 when Archer was convicted of other offences of making/downloading indecent images of children.

As part of the police investigation in to the breach of the order, the further indecent images were found on a computer and other storage devices belonging to Archer.

Archer was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and the SHPO will continue.
