Dean Randall – Bournemouth

Sex offender who abused boy sentenced to 14 years

A paedophile who abused a boy in the “grossest fashion imaginable” has been jailed for 14 years.

The full details of Dean Randall’s depraved offending as the victim could be identified.

However, the judge who sentenced the 39-year-old at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday called the circumstances of the abuse “indescribable”.

Details of abuses carried out against the victim, a young boy, were read out in harrowing detail by prosecutor Simon Jones. Randall filmed the offences.

The defendant was arrested in Poole Park by officers from Dorset Police on January 15. His mobile phone was seized and Randall was released under investigation.

Images of the abuse were then recovered from the phone by investigators.

Randall, of Prince of Wales Road in Bournemouth, admitted five counts of making an indecent image of a child and two of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The boy’s mum read her victim impact statement aloud to the court. In it, she said her family is “broken” by the harm caused by Randall

“How do we trust anyone again?” she asked.

“We’ve been to hell and back.”

Judge Stephen Climie said he was forced to sentence outside of the government’s guidelines due to the gravity of the case.

“It is beyond comprehension,” he said.

“In my judgement, this falls into a unique category.”

Randall will also be subject to the requirements of a sexual harm prevention order and the sex offenders’ register for life.

As the defendant was taken to the cells, the victim’s dad shouted: “I hope you rot.”
