Broughton man to be sentenced for child sex offences
A man has admitted attempting to cause a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity on the internet.
Steven Benjamin Jones, 34, of Chester Road, Broughton, appeared at Mold Crown Court where he admitted six charges. He will be sentenced next month.
It was alleged that he believed he was speaking to a child over the internet but it turned out that it was an adult involved in tracing such people.
Jones admitted five charges that last October he attempted to cause a girl aged under 13 to indulge in sexual activity and one charge of attempting to cause her to watch a sexual act.
Judge Timothy Petts rebailed him for a pre-sentence report and ordered him to register with the police as a sex offender.
