Paedophile looked at child abuse as ‘one last stand’ night before he was jailed
A paedophile will spend longer behind bars after he was found to have viewed indecent images of young girls as “one last stand” on the night before he was jailed.
Peter Moore, 52, was jailed for 18 months last December after police found almost 1,500 indecent images of children on electronic devices belonging to him.
But after the defendant, from Cardiff , was sent to prison a warrant was executed at his home in Pentrebane and a number of computers and tablets were seized.
In total police found 13 indecent images of children including one category B image of a 14-year-old girl.
A number of search terms relating to child abuse, including “pre-teen naked under 12”, “young-looking girl models under 14”, and “Daddy’s girl” were discovered as well as bookmarks to pages featuring indecent images.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday heard Moore was produced from prison on February 1 and arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.
In his police interview Moore claimed that while on bail between his conviction and sentencing he said he was curious to find out what he had been convicted of and denied having a sexual interest in children.
Prosecution barrister Jennie Yeo said there were a number of victims in the case, all of whom were relatively young.
As part of the defendant’s original sentence he was made subject to sexual harm prevention order and was ordered to sign the sexual offenders’ register for a period of 10 years.
Moore, formerly of Pentrebane but now of HMP Usk , was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment to run consecutively to his current sentence.
