“Persistent” paedophile jailed for sexual activity with schoolgirl
A former teaching assistant who caused a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity was jailed for eight years
Martin Moon, 32, of Bridgewater Lane, Pinchbeck, also sent the girl sexual videos of himself and repeatedly asked her to send him sexual pictures.
Lincoln Crown Court heard Moon had previously been jailed for 30 months in January 2011 for sexual activity with a different 15-year-old girl.
At that time Moon was working as a teaching assistant in Boston and he was subsequently made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
The court heard police went to Moon’s Pinchbeck home in July 2017 and seized an iPhone from him.
Gareth Weetman, prosecuting, said: “It seemed apparent there were a number of images of an indecent nature of a female who seemed to be under 16.”
Moon admitted he had been in contact on social media with a female he believed to be 18 in Denmark. He later admitted the girl told him she was 15.
Examination of the iPhone revealed 33 indecent images and videos of the girl in the most serious Category of A. There were three images in Category B and 350 images in Category C.
Chat logs showed the girl enjoyed “dominant” relationships and sometimes referred to Moon as “Daddy.”
There was also evidence of the girl sending Moon sexual videos and Moon sending the girl a video of him masturbating.
The court heard Moon continued to keep in contact with the girl after his arrest in July 2017 and police found a further 45 Category C images of the girl when they seized another phone used by Moon.
There was also evidence Moon had met up with the girl in London after she turned 16 in March this year.
The court heard Moon married his current wife following his arrest in July 2017 and she was aware of his offences.
Moon pleaded guilty to two charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity together with charges of causing or inciting sexual exploitation of a child and causing a child to watch a sexual act.
The charges relate to the period between May 12 and July 28 2017.
Moon also admitted three charges of making a total of 386 indecent photographs of children and a further charge of making 45 Category C indecent images.
Moon was jailed for eight years and must also serve an extended four year sentence on licence following his release.
Passing sentence Judge John Pini QC told Moon: “You are an entrenched and determined paedophile. You have no intention of changing your ways.”
Teaching assistant faces jail after incidents with young girl
A former teaching assistant has been told he faces an “inevitable” jail sentence after admitting sex offences against a 15-year-old girl when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court.
Martin Moon pleaded guilty to two charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity together with charges of causing or inciting sexual exploitation of a child and causing a child to watch a sexual act.
The 32-year-old of Bridgewater Lane in Pinchbeck also admitted three charges of making a total of 386 indecent photographs of children.
The charges involve a 15-year-old girl and relate to the period between May 12 and July 28, 2017.
Moon was under a sexual offences prevention order at the time which had been imposed at Lincoln Crown Court in January 2011 when he was jailed for 30 months for sexual activity with a different 15 year old girl, the court heard.
Judge Simon Hirst adjourned his sentence until June 8 for a report detailing the level of danger posed by Moon.
The judge granted Moon conditional bail, telling him: “I will readmit you to bail notwithstanding the fact that custody is inevitable.”
Teaching assistant jailed after having sex with girl
A teaching assistant was jailed after a court heard how he seduced a 15 year old girl just three weeks before he was due to marry his pregnant fiancee.
Martin Moon (25), of High Street, Gosberton, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday where it was revealed that he made contact with a girl by Facebook offering her his mobile number.
Then, after he got her number, he began texting her and on Valentines’ Day told her he loved her.
David Herbert, prosecuting, told the court that Moon made flattering comments towards the girl and arranged to stay the night with the girl at what her told her was a friend’s flat.
Mr Herbert said “It was the flat where he lived with his partner. She had gone away for several days.
“He picked her up from college and took her to the flat. Once there he hugged and kissed her and then took her into the bedroom . They got into bed and had sex.”
The girl then stayed the night at the flat and the following morning he took her home.
Mr Herbert said: “Afterwards his manner towards her changed dramatically. She continued to text him but he was short in his replies , if he replied at all. “
He then texted her to say they could never be together as he had got married. That was news to the girl as he had told her he was single.”
The abuse began to be talked about by the girl’s friends and as a result staff at her school became aware. Then, just 13 days after his wedding, Moon was arrested.
He agreed he had sent “highly inappropriate” text messages to the girl but denied having sex with her.
But in court Moon admitted sexual activity with a child on 17 February 2010.
He was jailed for two and a half years and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
Judge Michael Heath told him: “At the time you were engaged to be married and your fiancee was carrying your child. You told that young girl you were single. “
It is quite plain that you used her to satisfy your own lust without any consideration for the harm you were causing or the impact on her. You then dropped her and told her you couldn’t be together. This was a serious incident that was engineered by you.”
