Pervert caught by paedophile hunters avoids prison

A pervert who groomed what he believed was children online for sexual activity has avoided a prison sentence after being caught by paedophile hunters

Grahame Emms, 62 of Aylesbury appeared at Crown Court where he admitted sexual communication with children

The court was told that Emms, had contacted what he believed were 14-year-old and 12-year-old girls.

Emms proceeded with sexually explicit chat, and in one message Emms told the 12-year-old girl, that he would take her virginity. He continued to say that he would like to take her out on her 13th birthday

Further messages were sent to another profile aged 14, where Emms again stated his sexual intent.

Online child protection team called ‘The Force’ collated the evidence and passed it onto another team called ‘ No Excuses’ who approached Emms at his home address, where they questioned him over his online activity.

Emms pleaded with the team not to call the police and said he only spoke to the girls for a ‘joke’

The police were called and Emms was arrested shortly after.

The court was told that the profiles of the girls were not real and were actually ‘decoys’ from the team ‘The Force’ who were posing as children.

The judge told Emms that he must complete 180 hours of unpaid work in the community. That he would be supervised by the probation service for a period of three years

A sexual harm prevention order lasting 10 years was given and he was told that he must immediately register as a sex offender
