An 86-year-old man has been jailed after being found guilty of child sex offences.
Ivan West, of The Fairstead in Cley, was found guilty at Norwich Crown Court last month, after a jury convicted him of nine counts of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency following a four day trial.
The charges relate to abuse, which took place between 1972 and 1981 at addresses in Buxton and Heavingham, against three female victims.
West was sentenced on Friday 1 June 2018 to a total of 12 years imprisonment with an extended licence period of one year.
Man, 86, convicted of sexual offences against girls
An 86-year-old man has been warned he faces jail after he was convicted of a string of sexual offences against three girls.
Ivan West, of Cley, Holt, was convicted of nine offences of indecent assault and one of gross indecency dating back to 1973, but cleared of a rape charge on a girl under 16 by a Norwich Crown Court jury.
The jury took just under two and half hours to reach verdicts in the case.
West had denied all the charges.
Judge Stephen Holt adjourned sentence for reports until May 25 and granted bail to West as an “act of compassion” so he could get his affairs in order, although warned him that he faced custody.
