Newark man jailed for indecent assaults on girls
A Newark man has been jailed after being found guilty of indecent assaults on two girls under the age of nine.
Kevin Woodruff, of Cleveland Square, was sentenced to 21 months in prison when appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday, following a five-day trial.
The 48-year-old was found guilty on four counts, and was handed a 21-month jail term.
The case came to light when one of the victims reported what had happened to her more than two decades ago. Following inquiries, another victim came forward.
Woodruff was arrested and charged in November 2016. He maintained his innocence throughout the trial but was found guilty by the jury.
He has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
