Sleazy Edinburgh pensioner caught ‘meeting 14-year-old schoolgirl for sex’ by paedo hunters
Market trader George Millan, 67, was expecting to meet an underage teenager called Amy for sex after telling her: “I would love to be your first.”
But when he turned up he was confronted by members of the Child Protectors Scotland group — who filmed his shocked reaction then reported him to the cops.
That led to the pervert pleading guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday to trying to arrange the illicit tryst in the capital.
Prosecutor Kim Schofield told how one of the male vigilantes received a message from ‘George M’ asking to meet after setting up a fake WhatsApp profile.
She said: “Posing as Amy, he replied that she was 14 to which the accused responded ‘I don’t mind’.
“He said he would like to help her undress — and would love to be her first.”
Millan sent lewd messages asking ‘Amy’ to perform a sex act before arranging to hook up last December.
Ms Schofield said: “The accused messaged Amy to say he was outside an estate agents.
“One of the group shouted out ‘George’ and the accused responded ‘yeah that’s me’.”
Sheriff Michael O’Grady deferred sentence and put Millan on the sex offenders register.
Outside court, the predator, of Edinburgh, whinged: “I got stitched up. I lost my job and this has destroyed my family.”
CPS founder Sophie Hunt said: “If we can keep one child safe it would be worth it.”
