Pervert jailed for possessing and distributing vile indecent images of children
A paedophile has been jailed for possessing and distributing vile indecent images of children from a hoard which included scenes of torture and rape.
When police raided Richard Macrow’s Nottingham home, they found 1,061 videos of the worst kind, the crown court heard.
He was sent to prison for 28 months and told by a judge that he had played a part in the abuse of children, which included them “in pain and and distress.”
“There were just under 30,000 images – I repeat that – just shy of 30,000 images and just over 14,000 of the most serious category, including 1,000 moving images.
“More seriously even than that, it was found to be the case you distributed a number of Category A and B images.
“You were using the dark web to do it and you describe ongoing sexual interest in young children, ideally aged nine to 14. The images here were of children some as young as six months old.
Leanne Summers, prosecuting, said police received information that images had been sent via the internet to Macrow’s home on Morley Avenue, Nottingham in July 2016.
The longest video found lasted for one hour 47 minutes.
Officers found a total of 354 items of extreme pornography as well as pictures involving children.
“There were a number of torture videos,” added Miss Summers.
Macrow, 58, pleaded guilty to possession of the images and distributing some of them.
He was put on the sex offenders’ register for a decade and must also make his computer available for police inspections for the same period.
