A paedophile has been found guilty of a string of sexual offences after being exposed by online child protection team ‘Predator Exposure’ which lead to two schoolgirls coming forward
Mathew Whittaker of Bradford, appeared at Bradford Crown Court this week for his trial.
The jury was told that in August last year, Whittaker had contacted three profiles online who he believed were 13-year-old girls. They were in-fact undercover decoys from team Predator Exposure.
Whittaker sent indecent images of himself, and sent vile sexually explicit chat which encouraged sexual activity will the girls
The team went to the police and handed over their evidence against him, but during the same day, Whittaker went to the police to report them for harassing him.
However, after the police investigated the evidence produced by the team, they arrested the offender
When news broke of the arrest for those crimes, two real schoolgirls came forward and gave statements to police saying they had been sexually abused by Whittaker.
Whittaker denied the offences and the case went to trial. The two girls bravely gave evidence against him in court via video link.
The pervert was found guilty in court of:
Twelve counts of sexual touching against a child aged under 16
Two counts of inticing a child into sexual communication
Two counts of inticing a child into sexual communication with an indecent image
Whittaker was remanded in custody and will return to be sentenced on Friday
