18 months prison for man who abused a child
An unemployed man from Ashford in Kent who abused a girl has been sent to prison for 18 months.
John Stephen McQuarrie, aged 40, will also be on the sex offenders’ register for a period of ten years.
Appearing before His Honour Judge Harrow, McQuarrie was given the 18-month prison sentence at Bournemouth Crown Court on 30 March 2010.
He had pleaded guilty to a charge of committing indecency with a 13-year-old girl in Poole between January 1996 and January 1997.
The Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor in the case was James Newton-Price.
The investigating officer in the case was Detective Constable Janice Bennett of the Bournemouth Child Protection Unit.
