Man, 68, spared jail after indecent child images conviction
A pensioner has been referred to a sex offenders’ treatment programme after being convicted of making and possessing more than 500 indecent images of children.
John Draisey, 68, of Silver Avenue, Haydock, was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court.
He was convicted of making and possessing 525 indecent images of children.
Of the images, 123 were of the most serious Category A; 159 were in Category B and 243 were deemed to be Category C.
Draisey is accused of having the obscene images between December 2015 and December 2016.
The 68-year-old was given a community order for three years and must sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also imposed for five years.
Draisey must also attend a sexual offenders’ treatment programme and undertake rehabilitation activity for 20 days.
