Prudhoe pervert caught downloading sick images of children from Canadian chat room
A pervert was caught with stash of indecent images of children which he downloaded from a Canadian chat room.
Brian Milburn, who has a past conviction for similar offending, was found to have vile movies and photos – some of the more serious category A kind – on his computer at his home in Prudhoe, Northumberland.
Police executed a search warrant at the 61-year-old’s address on Castle Road in November last year and seized electrical devices, where the a total of 72 images and 17 recordings were discovered.
North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court was told that four of the pictures and 11 of the videos were category A, which are the most serious kind and involve penetrative sexual activity.
Now, Milburn is facing a possible jail sentenced after he pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child.
Lee Poppett, prosecuting, said police had been working with a child protection agency when Milburn was identified as a possible offender.
“It was realised that, in a particular Canadian chat room, images had been shared,” Mr Poppett told the court. “Officers obtained an IP address for the shares and it was linked to the defendant.
“In a separate investigation, a further IP address was linked with the defendant where further indecent images had been shared.
“Police conducted a search warrant and obtained the defendant’s computer and, as a result of that, several category A, B and C images of children were found.”
The prosecutor told magistrates that the case was aggravated by the fact Milburn had a “relevant previous conviction” from 2012 for distributing indecent images of children.
As a result, he submitted that the pervert should be sent to Newcastle Crown Court for sentence
Magistrates released Milburn on unconditional bail to next appear at Newcastle Crown Court on April 17.
In the meantime, they ordered him to sign the sex offenders’ register.
